The Training Section of the Warren County Ambulance District has a variety of CPR/First Aid classes available to the general public. The CPR classes are currently American Heart Association certified.

The Warren County Ambulance District is proud to offer CPR education to the community that we serve. 

Heart attack, drowning, electrical shock and other problems may cause the heart to stop pumping blood.  This is called Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in the United States and Canada.

Studies show that efferctive CPR right away improves survival from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).  Most cardiac arrests happen outside of the hospital, where bystander CPR is really important.

You can make a difference, and the first step is learning CPR.  You never know when you might need to use the CPR skills you learn for someone you know or even one of your loved ones. 

Professionally trained and licensed paramedics who have taken the Instructor course teach all of the listed courses by the American Heart Association.  We all know that the most import part of the Chain of Survival is immediate CPR by helping you learn CPR; we work together as a community to help those that need our help the most.

Below is a description of classes that are offered:

Heartsaver AED 

The Heartsaver AED class makes it possible for providers to start early defibrillation.

The class teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief from choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

This class is designed for everyone in the community.  It is a very simple, hands-on class that should make you feel as ease with the idea of helping a family member, co-worker or any other member of the community in the event of choking or Suddent Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

This class takes approximately 4.5 hours to teach.

Heartsaver First Aid w/ CPR/AED

The Heartsaver First Aid with CPR/AED class is designed for those people that wish to learn the basics of first aid in addition to CPR and AED use.

The Heartsaver First Aid w/ CPR/AED course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.  Course includes: General Priniciples, Medical, Injury, Environmental Emergencies, CPR and AED use.

This class is designed for those people who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

This class takes approximately 5.5 hours to teach.

BLS for the Healthcare Provider

The BLS for Healthcare provider course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign body airway obstruction and automatic external defibrillation.

The class is for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

This class takes approximately 5.5 hours to teach.

Cost:  $25.00 for CPR Classes
